In reply to claire's post on July 23, Making a Restore Point is creating a way to get back to where you were at that point with the registry, drivers, and other windows settings when troubleshooting. It does not restore deleted files and so on. Only if you later use a Restore Point are you put back in history to that point, creating one just allows you to do it. In reply to SpiritX's post on July 23, I managed to make a restore point and although the driver hasn't been deleted, it is now recognising that my camcorder is connected to the computer so that I can view my photos.
